Kilofe was born from an idea I had while working with a House DJ from London. It evolved into an even more eclectic piece when that project didn’t pan out and was instead fleshed out with an intrepid young producer from Port Harcourt, Nigeria. This tune will take you on a dancing tour through humid Chicago summers to the undeniable thrum of Johannesburg house. All while sweet harmonies draw you into the nostalgia and confidence of first love. From the Yoruba chorus of ‘Kilofe? Ma fun e’ (What do you want? I’ll give it to you) to the sensual whispered promises of loves dream, the album opener is a satisfying and fun romp.
